*Know the market: Try to get an idea of what it is you want to do for a living. When you have decided on what you want to peruse make sure that you are qualified to do so. Usually when you are perusing classifieds either online or in print, you will see a list of requirements such as education or special training. If you do not meet these specific needs, then don't waste your time applying for the job.

Hi Chris S,

Thanks for the link to the interesting survey.

Obviously many people do care about green practices and social responsibility.

The point I was hoping to emphasize in my post was that percentages can be deceiving. To say that "only" 23% of the population puts its money where its mouth is on green practices belies what a huge number of people that is -- over 50 million! I know businesses that are quite lucrative and successful that have market sizes of fewer than 500,000 people.

Green sounds like a promising business trend. And based on your study, it makes for a satisfying employer, too.

Best,
Anita

[...] I love it when blogs outside of my “Green” folder in my RSS reader pick up on green business. Today it’s Small Business Trends leading off a post talking about Terracycle and going into what green business is exactly. Is "Green" Good Marketing? [...]
