Are You Going to the COSE Small Business Conference?
Michael White was the mayor of the city of Cleveland, Ohio for 12 years. Then he left political life altogether, moved to semi-rural Ohio, and become co-owner of an alpaca farm. How’s that for an example of Baby Boomer entrepreneurship? In this video you can see him working on his alpaca farm — view the video clip here.
He is going to be one of the keynote speakers at the COSE Small Business Conference, held in Cleveland, Ohio on October 18 - 19, 2007. Julie Aigner-Clark, Founder of Baby Einstein, also is keynoting.
It’s a huge event, which this year is expecting 2,000 attendees.
I’m co-presenting with David Powers of GotVMail, about how to choose a phone system for your business. It’s interesting times for the entire telecomm industry because it is being disrupted by new offerings right and left – David and I will de-mystify the choices. Our session is on October 19, from 10:45 to noon.
I see some friends and colleagues are also speaking in workshops, including Gary Harpst, CEO of Six Disciplines, Barb Cagley, President of SCK, and Sage Lewis, President of SageRock. And probably some others I’ve missed — if so, feel free to leave a comment below letting us know.
UPDATE: Joel Libava is also speaking on the topic of franchising.
Hope to see you at the COSE Small Business Conference!

Hi Joel, glad that you are speaking, too. Your session is at the same time as mine, so unfortunately I won’t be able to catch it, but I’ll look for you before or after.
Hey there Laura, hope to finally meet you in person! Do look us up. And if you can’t make my session, you may be able to find me over at the GotVMail booth.
