It’s 33 pages of tips for marketing, including relationship marketing, marketing strategy, selling, messaging, online marketing and social media.

  1. Downloaded your marketing secrets. Very exhaustive collection. Keeping it as a library copy for any time reference. Thanks for your good work.

  2. Great collections of tips. This must have taken a lot of work to get the list together. Looks great and it is nice to see everyone who participated listed there.

  3. I would like to thank you for having me on your final list of secrets. It is a great priviledge to contribute with a website I read on a daily basis, and it was a morale boost for me. I am working on a SMB here in Brazil right now and I am getting kinda frustrated with the way things are (not) moving around here.

The organization has come to a point where they are afraid of taking risks, is losing interest to invest in marketing, and that really kills me. I was talking to a co-worker today, mentioning I was disappointed and frustrated, because I have no chance of showing what I can do (and I have LOTS of good ideas – thank you very much). But knowing that my opinion is interesting enough to feature in such a great document has made my day.

So thank you all once again.

  4. Anita,
Thank you for including my tip in this collection. You did a great job putting it together and reading the tips have given us new ideas especially online that we can use for our small business.

  5. Anita,

It’s been fun watching the interest and reaction to this post. Great idea.

Thanks for putting the “secrets” together as a PDF to share with all.

And, thanks for including my “secret”.

    Anita,

Great compilation. Thank you very much for including my entry. I will share this document with my friends and colleagues.

  7. Thank you Anita for a very interesting and helpful document.

Marketing is my business and I was very impressed with the content, I’ve seen people sell this information.

I recommend that all business owners download it, it does not come with a $197 price tag but it has what you would expect to pay $197 for.

    Great job everyone that contributed.

  8. Thanks, Eoin! Since these were tips from the community, obviously I would never think of charging anyone a fee for downloading the document.

But I can definitely see your point that the combined knowledge and wisdom in it is extremely valuable.

Had I been smart enough to come up with all these tips all by my lonesome self, I might have charged something. 🙂

  9. Online Marketing newbie

Just grabbed this, thanks! What a resources, I will be using this often as I learn the ropes of online marketing. And thanks to all those who contributed to this great ebook!

  10. One other point I forgot to mention about the economics of the book, that I will share with you all. That is, a document like this takes many hours to compile from a blog post and the submitted tips (which as it turned out, were scattered across 3 different blog posts). There are hours of copying, pasting, formatting, indexing, proofreading, etc.

The document took 2 days to put together, more or less. That doesn’t count my own editorial time, where I reviewed the submissions to determine which to include.

If I’d had to do the entire job by myself, it would be next year before I got to it.

Luckily, I hired Dina at WordFeeder.com to put the book together. Dina did a fabulous job and I was very pleased with her work, so a big shout-out to her. And many thanks to HP whose sponsorship enabled me to hire Dina so that I could give the book at no charge to anyone.

  11. Anita,

The book looks great! Thank you for making me a part of this project. And thank you for this kind mention on the blog.

Do you know what was the best part of putting this together? Being forced to slow down, click the link of each contributor, and view their site/learn more about what they do. What talent lives here!

Sometimes it’s easy to go for months, hanging around on the same forums as people but only knowing them in *that* context.

I encourage everyone to really take time and visit the websites of your community members – whether you know them from here on Small Biz Trends, on Ryze, on LinkedIn.com, or wherever your networking takes you.

People put a lot of hard work and effort into their online presentation. And as we can all see from this wonderful book that Anita has produced… many have great insights and ideas. Let’s all make it a point to drop by each other’s websites and take a close look around!

    Thanks again, Anita and all.
