(June 12, 2008)- eServicePlace is a recently launched web application aimed to revolutionize the way services are being traded. eServicePlace is conceptualized as a marketplace for services where buyers and sellers transact business in perfect harmony, facilitated by eServicePlace.
The initiative was felt necessary because, small or big, simple or sophisticated, service needs are innumerable and are never ending. With technological innovations streaming in, day-a-piece and with tremendous increase in the buying power of the people, service needs have not only increased manifold but have also become more technologically high-end. Vis-Ã -vis this remarkable increase in the number and the technology of the service needs, the improvement in the means of procuring the services is not commensurate, technologically and otherwise, throwing open a gaping void between service needs and service procurement.
Traditionally, service procurement has been through identification of a service provider by a search-through-the-lane or over phone (after, of course, spending considerable time poring over our good old friend – The Yellow pages). Thanks to the drastic change in the work culture and work nature, these traditional means are no longer practicable.
Attempts have been made to facilitate ‘identification’ of the service providers through web, but, woefully, almost all of these attempts stop with identification. Thereafter, everything is between the provider and requester, the same old way. The void persists. eServicePlace has been launched with the specific purpose of filling this void.
eServicePlace aims to achieve this purpose through:
Identification and cataloging of all, not just probable, but, imaginable service requests.
Pooling all the service resources (Requests as well as offers) under the relevant service categories.
Making available to all registered eServicePlace users, the information they need i.e Requesters are furnished with the information on the providers and vice versa.
On the execution side, eServicePlace shall be with the provider / requester all through the process and assist by:
In case of Service requester:
Throwing open the request to the providers (Either to all the providers or a set of providers as per the choice of the requester), who will bid on the request.
Making available to the requester, the bids (Either before or after the closure date, as per the requester’s choice), to decide upon the winner.
Facilitating finalization of the contract and the work order.
Keeping the requester informed of the progress through work order progress.
Facilitating payment to the provider.
In case of a Service Provider:
Making available the service requests pertaining to his domain, to bid on.
Informing the status of the bid (In cases where open bidding is permitted).
Facilitating finalization of contract and work order.
Facilitating preparation of work order progress for necessary information to the requester.
Facilitating receipt of payment due.
As is evident, eServicePlace aims to provide an all encompassing service to both, the service vendors and service recipients. eServicePlace is not about service recipients and vendors alone. eServicePlace believes that any talent is marketable and as such it is for any aspiring talented individual.
