SCORE Leaders Help Ring Nasdaq Opening Bell

Washington, D.C. (PRESS RELEASE – December 18, 2008) – SCORE Board Director Edie Fraser, co-author of Do Your Giving While You Are Living, presided over the opening bell of Nasdaq, along with representatives from 30 other organizations, on Wednesday, December 17th. The ceremony saluted the spirit of giving and the value of nonprofit organizations like SCORE in communities across America. Fraser and Mark Dobosz, vice president of development for The SCORE Foundation, represented SCORE at this event, highlighting the value of SCORE’s small business mentoring and services, particularly during a down economy.

“We are in a crucial time, where we need to do everything we can to help out those in need,” says Fraser. “Please celebrate with us, and thank you for all the giving you do!”

Today’s entrepreneurs face many challenges. These include lower consumer spending, rising unemployment, tightening credit, and inflation pressures that hit both businesses and customers. Donations help SCORE serve more clients and make a positive impact with businesses that may be struggling to stay in business and handle increasing costs. SCORE thanks all of its volunteers and corporate sponsors for their ongoing financial support. To make a donation, visit www.score.org/donate.html. Learn more at www.scorefoundation.org.
