Having an entrepreneurial outlook means looking at the world a bit differently. Everyday policy, trends even philanthropy take on a whole new meaning. U.S. tax breaks on the way. A bill that will prevent tax increases beginning at the end of this year by extending tax cuts left over from U.S. President George W. It may be time to start a business but not to buy or sell one. As might be expected, the rough economy has taken its toll on the numbers of businesses changing hands. That’s partly because sellers are waiting for improvement in their valuation or performance or both in an effort to get a sweeter deal at some point in the future. Of course, this is no time to get bummed out about this sort of thing. Start a business now or strengthen your existing business and you’ll be ready when the market comes around. You’re The Boss

  2. You know I have always wondered why you guys have a blue planet and stars as your backdrop and now I know. You have your head so far out out the stratosphere you have no idea what is going on. Why would any entrepreneurial outlook or priorities START with policy? What creative entrepreneur prioritizes that first? an established (relatively big) small biz… ok, but a startup?

    • Thanks for your comment, Steve.

I’m not sure where you got the idea that this site is for startups, but it’s not. Our primary audience is the small business, up to 100 employees — many are well-established small businesses that have been around for more than a few years. Startups are just a portion of our audience.

We deliberately focus on a range of issues, and we find many small business owners are interested in policy matters because it impacts their business operations. I would hope that there’s enough in the site for everyone, no matter what their interests — marketing, technology, social media, business operations, financial, and more.
