Remember that most people still use Google and less Facebook and Twitter. So what you need as a small business is also a web site that optimizes your content for search engines, for free of course!   2. I think the fact that google has announced today (21st Feb) that it will start to include an element of social media in its search results show how important it is for small business to be engaged.

    I am a small business owner(Graphic Design) and use social media to look for new clients, engage current ones, watch industry trends and even find new staff.
