GetResponse Understands Small Business Obstacles

GetResponseSometimes there’s a disconnect between larger companies and small businesses. After all, how can the larger company understand the unique pains a small business experiences? Email marketing provider GetResponse, however, understands those obstacles. It did, after all, start out as a small business in 1998. Simon Grabowski started GetResponse with the sole goal of creating a feature-packed email marketing solution that would be user-friendly and affordable for the small business market. Something the company is proud of: users need no technical knowledge to use the email platform. This a boon for anyone who has struggled to use HTML and wasted countless hours in the process (ahem). One unique feature about the email service is its Inbox Preview. Because emails tend to render differently, depending on what browser you’re using, as well as whether you’re on a laptop, desktop, tablet, or phone, marketers need reassurance that their emails will be received the way they were intended across the board. The Inbox Preview feature shows what an email would look like in most of the popular email programs, as well as Google and Android devices.

Staying in Line with Trends

As email marketing changes, GetResponse is ready with tools to take advantage of technological breakthroughs. As tools appeared in the marketplace to help non-technical folks get around using HTML, GetResponse was ready with its Email Creator, which requires no HTML skills to use. When social media became ingrained in everything we did, GetResponse had Social Sharing functionality in its emails. When businesses wanted to know who was opening their emails, GetResponse had its analytics in place.

The email marketing provider is one step ahead of whatever trend we’re embracing. While the company is close-lipped about what’s in store this fall, Ossowski hints that there will be news. He also mentioned mobile email marketing as an important trend that GetResponse is working to incorporate in its services. GetResponse’s 250,000 active users come from 105 different countries. The brand delivers more than 10 billion permission-based emails a year.

  1. Will you please tell me why not use Aweber even if you are aware about the Getresponse ?

    I think Aweber is still the best available autoresponder as rated by the users what also includes the small business owners.

    • Hi Robinsh,

      While AWeber may be good for autoresponders, small business owners have to look at features of email marketing providers and decide what works best for THEIR business. A lot of small businesses do not use autoresponders. They use email marketing for newsletters or for special promotions. GetResponse provides features that fit their needs.

    Paying £12 or £47 makes a difference for small business start up or newbie marketers

  4. Just tried it… and found it to be perfect for people that do email marketing exclusively. But for marketers that rely on email to keep clients informed and up to speed, this is asking me for way too much ‘creativity.’ Thanks… I’ll stick with Constant Contact.

      Tell me more. What do you mean, “people that do email marketing exclusively?” What’s the creative factor that puts you off?

      • Creative means that you have a few ideas about what you want and need something to help you execute. Like MS Word, they give you a bunch of pretty solid templates that you work off of… the structure is there, you have the options to say I like this or that. Count the number of templates that Constant Contact offers. Then count the templates that MailChimp provides…

  5. I haven’t started my newsletter yet, but I will do it during the end of 2012. I have been reading The Constant Contact Guide to Email Marketing by Eric Groves. I am thinking of testing MailChimp’s simple tool called TinyLetter. But I will also look into GetResponse. I like the inbox preview feature. I want to start out simple, before I “upgrade” to another service like Aweber or InfusionSoft.

    I am still doing introspection and asking myself: Another newsletter on the market? What would I provide?

    I recently used a service called Unroll.me. I had been subscribing to several hundreds of newsletters and mailing lists! ;) It became a stress moment for me. After using Unroll.me, I am feeling a bit of relief! ;)

      I’ll have to check out TinyLetter and Unroll.me. I use MailChimp, and find it does the job. Focus on delivering unique content in your newsletter. I like to include part of a post from my blog, and link to the whole thing, along with a personalized letter from me, and tips. I have people who have been subscribed for 6 years who still tell me how much they enjoy my newsletter!
