Now that the nomination period is over for the 2014 Small Business Book Awards, we’re full swing into the voting period. A few things are different this year. Below are the five things you should know about this year’s awards.
1. Voting Ends May 28 at Midnight
So don’t wait around until the last minute. Vote now for your favorite small business books in categories like Motivation , Social Media , Startup , Marketing , Management , Economics , Technology , and Resources .
2. You Can Vote Once Per Book
Rather than unlimited votes for each book, this year’s strategy will really zero in on the books that are benefiting the small business community. So highly popular authors with small, close-knit communities will need to go wider to encourage more votes.
3. It’s a Great Place to Make Your Reading List
Want to know what books have an impact on helping you grow your business? Just look at our nominees.
We’ve got everyone from best-selling authors to first-time self-published authors, and everyone in between. Whether you need help with strategy, Pinterest, or SEO, there’s a book on the list that can help. There’s even a button on each nominee page to add the book to your Amazon Wishlist!
4. You Can Show Your Support Through Social Commenting
On each nominee’s page, there’s a cool Facebook plugin below the description where you can leave words of encouragement for the author or share why this book is important to you. It’s a fabulous way to show your support.
You can also easily share any book’s page through the other social sharing icons. Tell your network to vote for your favorite books!
5. You Can Follow the Dialogue on Twitter
Don’t procrastinate in voting! You have just a few weeks left to browse the entries and cast your vote. After the community voting period is over, the Judges will weigh in with their picks for each category. We will announce both those winners selected by the Judges, as well as the Community Choice winners, chosen by you. For more information on voting and the Awards, visit the Rules page .
As a small business owner, you can appreciate how a little bit of attention online can work wonders for your brand. Most of these authors are small business owners, so support them by voting and spreading the word with your network.
