Wells Fargo Works Initiative Introduces New Website, Training, Chance to Win

Wells Fargo Works

Small businesses need more than funding to flourish. They need resources, training and inspiration too. Wells Fargo plans to deliver all of these things to small businesses in communities across the U.S. with its Wells Fargo Works for Small Business initiative. There’s also an opportunity for small businesses like yours to tell your story.

Here are the basics:

Wells Fargo has launched WellsFargoWorks, a comprehensive small business Web resource offering videos, articles and other information designed to help you start, run and grow your business. The bank has also launched the Wells Fargo Works Project, a two part video program.

Part one is an online video series telling the stories of five small businesses as they work with Wells Fargo to achieve their business objectives.

Part two is a contest open to small business owners across the U.S. offering an opportunity to create a two-and-a-half minute video or 600 word essay about their businesses. Five finalists will win $25,000, mentorship and tailored solutions and $5,000 for a charity of their choices.

Finally, Wells Fargo is working with national business and community groups like the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Women Business Owners, the National Urban League, U.S. Black Chambers, Inc., the U.S. Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce, the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and others. The aim is to provide financial education and resources to diverse small businesses throughout the country.

The initiative precedes a goal by the bank to help provide $100 billion in new lending for small businesses across the country by 2018.

Take a minute to go over and enter the Small Business Works Project contest between now and June 30 and enter for your chance to win by sharing your small business story.

And many thanks to @WellsFargo for sponsoring my participation.

  1. It’s great to see the large banks providing more support (and financing) to small businesses. It must be cool to get to participate.

  2. Ooh I like the concept. I also like that they have different events like the video series and contest. I think this has made me excited on what they are offering. It will be fun and I am sure that a lot of small businesses will be thrilled to participate.
