  1. Honestly, perhaps the only thing you can do that with the effective marketing is paid to have your posts promoted to your followers and then hope that a small percentage engage you.

That or avoid marketing on Facebook altogether.

    • Yes. That’s the easiest way to get likes to your page. But to actually market a product to them, you have to exercise the right marketing methods or at least get them to like you enough that they’ll buy from you.

  2. I have an FB page I run that I’m pretty active on, but I notice only a handful of people engage, and it’s more or less always the same people.

I know FB has curtailed the amount of posts someone can see, but there are a couple of articles you’ve listed that I’d like to read to see if there’s anything I can do on my end.

  3. Great tips, Shawn.

I’m still hesitant to spend money on facebook. They change things around so much.

I’m just not all the way there yet.

  4. Hi Shawn,
Thank you for this list of resources. I especially liked in your “10 things” article about not leaving spam on the wall. I think that leaving up spam makes businesses look unprofessional and like they don’t care about their presence. In my experience, facebook advertising does work – you just need to use it as your users like to use social networks. It is unlikely that you will get a sale right off the bat so I would advise not to even try. The goal of the ad should be to drive engagement and build a relationship. Often this is done via a white paper download, a free trial or something along those lines where your company can get their information and begin to interact with the potential customer. Has anyone else tried a lead gen./engagement campaign with facebook ads? If so, how did it go?
    Thanks,
    Adam
