If You’re Happy and You Know it – Take a Selfie

selfie cartoon

I’m old enough that I don’t fully understand the concept of the selfie.

Maybe it’s the “aw shucks” Midwesterner in me. (I literally say “aw shucks” daily.) Or maybe it’s my ‘I-work-at-home-so-I-don’t-shave-every-day’ vanity. Or maybe it’s my distrust of Facebook.

Or maybe it’s the fact that running my own business, running a family, and the occasionally runny nose … doesn’t leave me a lot of time and energy for self-portraiture.

That being said, if my sales ever jump like that – I just might recreate this cartoon in real life.

  1. Hahahaha! I like this one! I think it’s one of my favourites you’ve created this year!

Selfies aren’t for everyone. Some enjoy taking and sharing them, while others aren’t really feeling it. Each to their own.

  2. Mark,

I am all for selfies, but I don’t them often myself! 😉

Is the expression, “aw shucks,” used in every part of the Midwestern region of the United States of America? I lived in Troy, Ohio, between 2000 – 2002, and I don’ think I heard ever heard that saying.
