Tell Me What You Think I Want to Hear

job interview business cartoon

I haven’t been on an interview in a long, looooong time. And thank goodness, because I don’t really know what I’d have to say.

“So, you’ve been a… cartoonist… for the past 10 years?”

“Yep!”

(Awkward silence.)

“Okay… thanks for coming in.”

I do remember a certain scripted geniality on both sides though – which is what I was going for here.

  1. Hehe, I can imagine the convo going further, and everytime you tried to guess “what you think I want to hear about yourself”, the interviewee would go, “Nope”!

    (hours later)

    “Nope”

    “Nope”

    “Nope”

  2. That is too funny. I remember my first interview. You can practically read that in the face of who you’re talking to. Tell me something that you think I want to hear about yourself.
