I spent about seven years in the business world, and I’ve been a professional cartoonist now for more than a decade, but I actually went to school for music.
I studied the trombone, played in ensembles, learned my history and theory, got my degree, and actually played semi-professionally for a short time. So, you’d think I’d do more cartoons about music, but I really don’t.
One day, though, I saw some music in my son’s room, and the staff and the lines of notes made me think of a line graph and this cartoon came out. It was nice to integrate music and business and cartoons into one neat little package.
(BTW, the song in the cartoon is that elevator/hold music classic, The Girl from Ipanema.)
Mark: Are you a fan of Bossa Nova music? 🙂
