This idea came pretty quickly and I liked it. So I wrote it into my schedule and there it happily sat, largely forgotten, waiting to be drawn for around 7 weeks.
The day I decided to draw it I discovered how difficult this simple little idea was going to be. Not only did I have to draw a giant anthropomorphic butterfly, but I had to draw it from behind, sitting in a chair.
About an hour later, I’d finished the ink and was pleased with how it had turned out. But it was a good reminder that seemingly simple ideas are sometimes cartoon time bombs just waiting to derail your day.
