Last Call: Nominate a Business Book Today!

Small Business Book Awards Nominations

It’s last call! Time is running out to nominate your favorite book or resource for the 2016 Small Business Book Awards. Deadline for nominations is April 27, 2016 2:59 p.m. EST, so we’re getting down to the wire.

As always, books can be nominated in a number of different categories including marketing, social media, management, economics, technology, startup or motivation. There is an eighth category called simply resources — basically sort of a catchall category including people, companies, tools and apps supporting authors of small business books.

There have been more than 149 nominations thus far, but there is always room for more! So be sure to beat that April 27 deadline.

Eligibility

Besides fitting into one of eight categories above, several criteria must be met for a book to be eligible for the 2016 Small Business Book Awards. First, books and resources must be non-fiction and be relevant to the small business market, though relevant allegories as examples are certainly acceptable. Books must also have been published in 2015 but any format is acceptable.

Both print and e-books are allowed and may be self published or traditionally marketed. However, all books must have ISBN or ASIN number or a price tag for sale. Free ebooks offered as a marketing incentive to sign up for a website are not allowed.

What Sets the Small Business Book Awards Apart?

With so many other book awards out there, what makes the Small Business Book Awards so special? Though there are no shortage of business book awards, the Small Business Book Awards are unique in that they are awards given for and by the small business community.

Judging the Winners

Winners will be chosen in two categories. The first group of winners will be selected via a popular vote and will be called the Small Business Book Awards Community Choice winners. The second group of winners will be chosen by our distinguished panel of judges, and will therefore be called the Judged Winners. Both sets of winners will receive all the publicity associated with the awards not to mention the right to display the winning insignia on books and brochures, etc.

Following the close of nominations coming April 27, here are some important dates to remember:
