Don’t Judge a Book By Its Cover

One of the unsung heroes of the cartoon idea is the book jacket blurb. They’re short, they’re plentiful, and they’re full of jargon and superlatives — all of which make for terrific jumping off points.

I don’t remember which book it was, but one blurb went something like “John’s a total doer! He can really make things happen! And the results speak for themselves!”

It didn’t take much to rearrange that and add the comedic cherry on top at the end.

  1. This is not only true for employees but for businesses as well. Some brands can be so vague that their audience don’t even understand what they do and what they stand for.

  2. When it comes to employees, you cannot really tell until you have closely worked with that particular employee.
