[POLL] Who’s the Best Presidential Candidate for Small Business?

[POLL] Who's the Best Presidential Candidate for Small Business?

Back in August, we thought we were close to the General Election and then the campaign really unfolded.

At that time, we asked our readers who was getting their vote for President. What candidate would be best for small business, essentially?

Perhaps our readership was on to something way back then.

President-elect Donald Trump dominated our online reader poll. Of the 2,995 readers who voted, a 53 percent majority picked the eventual winner on Election Day. Hillary Clinton got 691 votes, or 23 percent.

Libertarian Gary Johnson grabbed 14 percent of that vote but it was before his infamous blanking on what Aleppo was.

Well, the voters have now done their part and it’s on to the transition of power and then the onus falls on the winner, Trump.

  1. Joshua: At this moment, Gary Johnson is the best Presidential candidate. Look at his track record and compare it with the other candidates.

  2. If you look at the campaign websites of both Trump and Clinton neither one address the single largest economic stimulus program for small businesses in America today, the Small Business Act. Today that law stipulates that small businesses receive a minimum of 23% of all federal contracts. That’s would be around $270 billion a year if that law were followed. A long series of federal investigations and investigate reports in the media have all found rampant fraud in the program that has diverted federal small business funds to many of the largest corporations in the world. If Trump and Clinton want to help small businesses and create jobs they need to end the fraud in federal small business programs. Mother Jones just did a great article on this problem titled, “Giant Corporations Reaping Billions in Federal “Small Business” Contacts.”
