Trend Toward Notebook Computers

Toshiba is another computer manufacturer seeing the lure of the SMB market. It is introducing a series of notebook computers aimed specifically at smaller businesses.

According to Toshiba, the trend among smaller businesses is following the trend among consumers, which is toward smaller, notebook PCs. Toshiba plans to capitalize on this trend by offering a line of notebooks with the features that small and medium size businesses need. These features include a copy of Microsoft Office 2003 Small Business Edition.

As noted by C-NET News, “though small and medium-size businesses have fewer employees, which means lower sales, the sheer size of the market is an appealing opportunity for large PC makers such as Toshiba and competitors Dell, Hewlett-Packard and IBM.”
