BusinessDictionary.com for Fast Look Ups

Search for business words in BusinessDictionary.com BusinessDictionary.com was recently launched. You can use it to look up over 20,000 business-related words.

It’s got phrases ranging from management terms of art (management by walking around) to technology terms that might pop up on your computer (ActiveX) to financial terminology (mezzanine financing).

The terms are broken down by categories, so you can browse (helps if you are not sure of the exact word or phrase). They have a word look-up box you can embed into your website.

There’s even a “word of the day” app for Facebook — because having a Facebook application is becoming de rigueur for any Web product these days.

I find myself often going to Wikipedia to look up business phrases or industry terms-of-art. However, I usually end up with far more information than I need. BusinessDictionary.com looks like it could be a better alternative to Wikipedia for quick look-ups.

  1. This is a great resource full of valuable info. I have bookmarked that site for future reference. I love when you point out these hidden gems! It will definitely come in handy. I like that you can look things up by letter too, sometimes you just can’t remember a certain word or phrase exactly.

  2. Thanks for the feedback, Amanda. Unless people like you tell me, I never know whether you all appreciate these posts about free resources or find them a waste of time. So it is good to have your encouragement.

Please keep telling me what you like!
