Launching Small Business Success Center

We’re launching a new section here at Small Business Trends. It’s called the Small Business Success Center.

One of the ways we try to help you be successful is through practical small things … each day.

That’s why this site is open to so many different voices. We want to hear from people — people who are experts and people who are on their way to becoming expert — we want to hear from YOU.

So in this new Small Business Success Center, we’ll be bringing you additional expert voices.

More importantly, we’ll offer some group writing projects, polls and opportunities for you to share your tips, advice, experiences and lessons learned.

I want to take a moment to thank Windows Vista, the sponsor of this new section. It’s because of the support of a company like Microsoft, which is committed to providing quality products and services for small businesses, that we are able to launch this initiative.

And many thanks, also, to Federated Media, which is doing some groundbreaking work with conversational media. Federated’s work enables us to involve a wide range of entrepreneurs in these conversations and group learning posts, and secure the kind of financial support necessary for this initiative. As you might imagine, it takes a lot of work, time and, yes, money, to run a community site like Small Business Trends.

Tim Grahl, our talented webmaster, has been working diligently behind the scenes with the Federated Media tech team to install custom plugins that will enable people to converse through RSS widgets displayed on other sites around the Web. Many thanks to all the tech team for the great work as we explore some uncharted territory with these new plugins and activities, and stretch the WordPress software in new ways. (Later on I’ll write a post about some of these tech items, as I expect you’ll be curious.)

And Ivana Taylor, who many of you know from her excellent book reviews here, has agreed to assist with content creation and strategy.

Thanks to all — and we look forward to your involvement.

Great new feature! Will we see Mr. Seinfeld appearing here in the near future?! 😉 I am relating my question to his new gig for Microsoft with a commercial for Windows Vista.
