I generally try to avoid puns. While I love a good groaner with friends and family, when it comes to cartooning, I like to steer clear. Still, sometimes one gets through.
I remember I was listening to the radio, heard the word ‘non-profit,’ and the joke part of my brain clicked on. After some playing around with the gag, I’d initially tossed this one aside as too easy, but the opportunity to do a fresher take on the mountaintop guru cliche was too good to pass up.

I think this is my favorite one so far!
I agree with Chris. This one is so clever! 🙂
Haha, these mountain-top profit jokes never get old! I guess it’s because the idea of an all-knowing guru is so ridiculous, yet so sought-after in our society. Great idea!

funny. yeh, prophets never have the answers. they have confuse-you-more answers, or more questions for you at best.
I love it! Of course, as a writer, I’m a big pun-lover.
Good one! You have plenty of gurus out there, sitting on their ivory towers. 😉 You better have both your feet on the ground and start from there. It is like the painting called The School of Athens with Plato and Aristotle in the center of the picture and students and disciples around them. Plato is pointing his finger up in the sky, saying that you find the original idea up in a higher dimension, but Aristotle has reality on his side and pointing his hand to the ground, proclaiming A is A.

Yeah, I like this one 😉 I wish I had that “joke side of the brain” like you do.
Excellent again, Mark! I love this.

The hardest thing is deciding on whether or not one would choose to be an optimist or a pessimist.
Is it okay, in these current times, to try one’s best to be a realist?
Why Those Gurus Don’t Have All The Answers — Simply because they really are not gurus!
I love this cartoon Mark. Keep it up!
