Top 100 Influential Online Marketers List

Top 100 Most Influential MarketersInvesp Consulting has released their first annual list of the Top 100 Most Influential Online Marketers for 2008.  Among the top 10 are Jackie Huba, Darren Rowse, Brian Clark, Aaron Wall, and Guy Kawasaki.

Oh, and number 1? That would be Chris Hughes, creator of Barack Obama’s social networking site.

Sometimes the best part is reading what others have to say about such lists.  For instance, there is the comment of Lyndon Antcliff who sums it up by saying, “I love these lists, if I am not on them they are rubbish and if …on them they represent the fountain from where all truth can be found.”   🙂

Yours truly – moi — was surprised to find myself included on the list, and in the top 50 too (number 47 to be exact).  I was surprised because I don’t think of myself as a marketer.  Mainly I just know how to hire good marketing people and pick their brains and learn from them. It’s an honor to be included and I want to thank all those who nominated me.

    Congratulations to #47!

Is this an international list or concentrated on the North American market?

This is a great list if you want to explore new marketing resources and knowledge, and then maybe follow some new interesting individuals on Twitter.

  2. Looks like the list has a lot of SEO types. Not that I consider it a detraction, just an observation.

Hey anita, I saw someone mentioned you as her mentor in one of the comments. Good validation for you being on the list.

  3. If Facebook wasn’t enough the online social network of Obama so crushed that of McCain’s that I can not think of anyone more deserving than Chris Hughes to be ranked number one on this list.

  4. Congratulations Anita!

Just so you know, the link for Jackie Huba is (it doesn’t work above).

    Great list!

  5. Thanks, Kate. And thanks for pointing out the link to Jackie’s site — I fixed it. It was missing the “www”.

How did Seth Godin not make this list?! Wow!

  11. Wow, this is a great way to start the new year off and congratulations to you!

I found the number one pick interesting. I believe the social networking aspects of this election were pivotal so that was really interesting to see.

  12. Congratulations Anita! I find it interesting to see who makes it to the top of these lists and to consider why – usually they are pretty much ‘on the mark’.

  14. I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing/working with a number of the folks on this list. They are all exceptional, and great resources for us all. I’m partial to my partner David Bullock…. oh yeah and I kinda like #47 quite a bit as well!

Congratulations Anita. It’s an honor well deserved!!!
