When a Background Check Is Not Needed …

Background check business cartoon

Lots of cartoonists tend to doodle and write at the same time to get their ideas. Not me.

My cartooning process goes like this:

1) Stare out window until ideas come.
2) Write ideas down on slips of paper, put in box.
3) Pull ideas from box, draw, rinse repeat.

But the above cartoon came very differently. I was doodling while chatting on the phone. All kinds of goofy art eventually filled the scrap of paper, but an office scene with a halo caught my eye. It just looked like it really needed a gag. So, after the call, I set my head on coming up with a joke to go with it.

It took a while to coax out, but I’m pleased with the end result. And sometimes it’s good to give my head a little workout.

  1. Cute! You should be able to trust someone with a shiny halo right? 🙂

  2. I love it. I think we need a better system when making everyone continue to get background checks with each new job. Doesn’t everyone realize that we had a background check at the last job?

Does an angel investor automatically get a halo with the job description?! 😉

  4. @Curt — no doubt you had one at the last job, just like I did. But you wouldn’t know about my lobotomy or my “going postal” incident and that’s why they had me on the short list for that layoff… 😉

A lot can happen between background checks…

  5. Haha! Love it 🙂

  6. Nice Blogpost. I learned a lot of things with your post.

  7. Haha, this is a good gag. 🙂
