Meeting of the Minds

Meeting of the Minds

It’s probably no surprise that being a cartoonist I like to joke around.

I like to tease the kids and make up outlandish answers to their questions. I lure my wife into some seemingly benign conversation only to deliver a horrible pun at the end. That’s not to say that I don’t have my serious side. I’m completely serious about humor, but I can’t help but look for opportunities for gags.

That’s how the above cartoon came about. We were eating dinner and my wife and I were discussing something when she said “can we meet halfway on this?” and I responded with this caption.

I don’t think I ended up getting my way, but I did get a good giggle from the Mrs., and a free cartoon to boot!

  1. Another good one. And Mark, to attorneys, this will take on even greater meaning, as “meeting of the minds” is a contract law term, and negotiating lawyers often talk about meeting halfway.

  2. That’s funny, I couldn’t help but giggle with this one. 🙂 I always love their expressions with their beady eyes and pointed noses.

  3. Mark,

I will use this saying in my next business negotiation! 😉 I will refer to your cartoon.

Anita: Do you think that I could get support from the lawyers? Now I have to learn about the “meeting of the minds” phrase.

    Have great weekend!

    All the Best,

    Martin

  4. Haha, a very polite way of saying “N-O” 🙂

Very cute, and I bet your wife thought so, too!

  5. I would love to possess the quick wit that this cartoon shows… in a business meeting, nothing lightens the tension and helps to get things moving again better than a big “tension clearing” chuckle!

Thanks for sharing… love a good giggle on a Friday!

  6. Hi Mark,

I’ve been reading your Friday blog entry for the last couple of months and just want to take the opportunity to say “Thank You”. Your fun posts every Friday always put me in a fun weekend mood. *Happy Friday*

  7. Hey Mark,
This is good. I’ll try it with my wife who is a math/numbers type of person. I like it.
Great laugh for the weekend start.

That’s funny! Had a good laugh. Surprisingly you can be sure that there are actually Business Owners out there that are really terrible at fractions, many didn’t even graduate out of High School.

  9. Love the cartoons. Always bring a smile to my face. Keep them coming.

  10. Great blog as usual, love dropping by and really like the cartoons!
