Dallas (PRESS RELEASE – September 19, 2009) – Building on the success of last year’s AT&T Tech Support 360SM introduction for small businesses, AT&T* today announced the availability of AT&T Tech Support 360 Desktop Helpdesk Minutes for midsize businesses with an average of 15 to 50 employees.
The service offers remote online computer support, installation assistance and PC performance tune-up 24 hours a day, seven days a week via any high speed Internet connection. In addition, starting this month, for midsize businesses AT&T is offering a block of Tech Support 360 Helpdesk Minutes that can be shared across all customer computers. These yearly block-of-time subscription packages start as low as $250 per month for 200 monthly minutes on any combination of company-authorized computers.
Since last fall’s launch for small businesses, the number of Tech Support 360 customers has grown rapidly surpassing the 100,000-new customer milestone in July. In addition, Tech Support 360 has scored highly in customer satisfaction, with 92 percent of new customers saying they’re “very satisfied” with the service.
“The tremendous response to Tech Support 360 is evidence that dealing with IT questions and problems can be overwhelming for small businesses, especially as many have little or no IT support staff on-site,” said Ebrahim Keshavarz, vice president of Business Development for AT&T. “In addition, in the current tough economic conditions, few small and midsize organizations have the budget to add staff or pay for expensive on-site tech support visits as problems arise.
“Tech Support 360 provides small and midsize business customers with remote technical support to help reduce the costs of having to bring technicians in-house, go to an off-site service location or spend time fixing problems themselves, which takes away from what they do best – running their businesses,” Keshavarz added. “The service offers peace of mind and is an easy, affordable and reliable 24/7 alternative to having onsite technical staff.”
For those small and midsize businesses that do have IT staff, Tech Support 360 can help offload day-to-day computer support, enabling the customer’s technicians to focus on other business priorities, such as building websites, setting up networks, or ensuring that billing, accounting or other key software and applications are running properly.
AT&T Tech Support 360 uses IT-certified, U.S.-based technicians. To ensure customer support quality and promote security, all calls and remote access interactions are recorded. In many cases customers can schedule work with the same technician who previously helped them.
Trained technicians troubleshoot computer hardware and software problems by remotely connecting to and accessing customer computers, diagnosing the problem and taking corrective action. However, the service supports more than just PCs, offering small businesses a single point of contact for help with nearly 350 standard business software applications, numerous printers, Wi-Fi routers and AT&T High Speed Internet Business Edition.
“AT&T was ahead of the curve when it introduced Tech Support 360 for small businesses, and now is extending that innovation by offering the service to larger businesses,” said Steve Hilton of Yankee Group, an independent technology research firm. “As technology becomes increasingly complex, AT&T is helping relieve this burden by delivering a simple, low-cost approach to managing IT challenges. Small and medium businesses need lots of business support, and getting that communications and IT support from one trusted source makes their technology challenges more simple to address.”
Pricing and Service Options
Tech Support 360 is available in a variety of one-time service options, subscriptions at the computer level, and now a block of minutes the company can share across multiple computers. One-time service purchase options include laptop and desktop computer performance tuneups or other services, such as software application training and wireless local area network setup and support.
Subscription plans for each computer come with unlimited remote access support for hardware, software and network connections for customer PCs. Yearly subscription service plans range from $19 to $28 per month per computer – significantly less that the cost of a single computer on-site service call.
In addition, midsize businesses now have the new option to purchase a one-year subscription of monthly blocks of time that can be shared across all registered PC’s within their business. They can save even more when purchasing a 3-year subscription.
