Inc. Magazine Named Sunshine Suites as one of the 5000 Fastest Growing US Companies

New York (PRESS RELEASE – October 24, 2009) – Sunshine Realty Management, operator of Sunshine Suites, the leading provider of community-based shared office space in New York City, has ranked 959th on Inc.’s list of the 5000 fastest growing companies in the U.S. Between 2005 and 2008, Sunshine Realty Management posted a 318.6 percent growth, outperforming the real estate industry by 128.7 percent (the average growth of the industry was 189.9 percent during that same period). In addition, the company ranked 15th in the overall real estate category and 74th in the New York/Northern New Jersey/Long Island area. Sunshine Realty Management was founded in 2001, and realized revenues of $966,347 in 2005. In 2008, the company’s revenues were $4 million.

“We are extremely honored to be named to Inc.’s list of the fastest growing companies,” said Joseph Raby, co-founder of Sunshine Suites with his childhood friend Cheni Yerushalmi. “We set out to provide a service to start-up companies and entrepreneurs because we ourselves were frustrated with the process and expense of renting office space as a young company. Now, we’ve been able to offer our tenants a community of support that helps them focus on growing their business while limiting the risks.”

The main service provided by Sunshine Suites is offering affordable, flexible and on-demand office space that’s leased on a month-to-month basis without long-term contracts and hidden fees. Rentals start as low as $99 per person per month, and include packages of basic office needs such as receptionist service, package and mail receiving, fax and copy services and conference room usage. What’s more, if a company grows from two employees to five, Sunshine Suites can reconfigure a new space within days, and usually has offices set up and ready to go within 15 to 30 minutes after signing the contract.

Currently, Sunshine Suites hosts more than 500 companies, and more than 1000 people. Their office space has grown from 3800 square feet to more than 57,000 square feet in its two downtown Manhattan locations – 419 Lafayette Street and 12 Desbrosses Street – and the company has plans to expand into other areas of New York City as well as other cities and countries.

“Some of the offerings that set us apart from our competition are our networking opportunities and our benefits programs,” said Mr. Yerushalmi, Sunshine Suites co-founder. “Our networking events are designed to bring fellow ‘shiners’ together to discuss ideas, struggles, and compatibilities. These events have often led to companies collaborating to the benefit of all parties.” Other amenities include panel discussions; health insurance programs; discounts at health clubs, car rentals, restaurants and hotels; use of the Sunshine Suites vacation home in Vermont; and participation on the Sunshine Suites soccer or softball teams.

Sunshine Suites is also part of the Coalition of Office Space Providers (COSP). Founded by Mr. Yerushalmi in February, 2009, the coalition includes many of the leading providers of office suites who united to assist New York in becoming the friendliest city for small business and startups. With assistance from New York City’s Economic Development Corporation, the COSP helps ‘incubate’ new businesses.
