Kentucky’s Small Business Community Launches

(PRESS RELEASE – December 21, 2009) – Kentucky’s Small Business Resource Providers have partnered to launch, an innovative resource navigator and web site for small businesses and would-be entrepreneurs. Through KyBizInfo, users can connect with more than 100 non-profit resource partners, including small business lenders, chambers of commerce, business consultants, economic development agencies and more.

The site’s easy-to-use resource navigator connects small businesses with a network of non-profit business resource organizations across Kentucky to access programs and services specifically designed to assist small businesses. The resource navigator works by gathering basic information from the user regarding their current business needs and provides the user with the non-profit resource that will best address those needs. A toll free number, 877-ky-bizinfo (592-4946), is also available to guide users through the process.

“Until now, entrepreneurs often didn’t know where to turn to find help starting or growing their ventures. They often spent time making calls and sending emails to organizations only to be referred somewhere else,” said Kevin Norvell, KyBizInfo Program Director. “This new tool will connect the entrepreneur to the right resources at the right time, so they can begin receiving the needed assistance immediately.” also contains helpful articles, online resources, a small business blog and a calendar that shows workshops and events available to small businesses throughout the state. Access to all of this information and the resource navigator is provided free of charge.

KyBizInfo is administered by the Kentucky Small Business Development Center and was launched with funding support from the Commonwealth Small Business Development Corporation.
