    I think, we have to consider two different sides of the story, or rather, the two different benefits of a press release. First, there’s the benefit of awareness and organic traffic: a press release from a reputable site/media can get people to know your business and visit your site/premise. Second, there’s the benefit of SEO: a press release, in theory, can be a high-quality backlink.

    However, press releases we get from PRWeb won’t give us this backlink purpose, because we need to turn all these links into nofollow links, or else we can be penalized by Google for “unnatural links”. A nofollow link won’t give any benefit for SEO whatsoever. So, as a conclusion, press releases from PRweb can definitely benefit us in awareness and traffic, but if you are looking to build your SEO, this is not a valid tactic.
