New York, NY (PRESS RELEASE – April 20, 2010) – The final entry deadline for the Eighth Annual American Business Awards is just two weeks away, and while the competition is on track to attract a record number of entries, several categories and a new Facebook application present special opportunities for aspiring Stevie Award winners.
Widely recognized as the premier business awards program in the U.S.A., The American Business Awards honor organizations and individuals in a wide variety of categories, from Executive of the Year and Best Overall Company of the Year to Best New Product of the Year and Public Relations Campaign of the Year
“Historically, 20% of the ABA’s categories receive 80% of the entries and this year is no different,” said Michael Gallagher, president of The Stevie Awards, organizer of the ABAs. “Certain categories are extremely popular and have stiff competition, but there are others with fewer entries that we encourage potential entrants to look at.”
Gallagher recommends that organizations consider entering the following categories:
- Advertising: there are 33 industry-specific categories for ads and campaigns
- Web Sites & Blogs: there are also 33 industry-specific categories for online media
- Live Events: nominate your organization’s new product introduction events, sales meetings, conventions, and other events
Also, for the first time ever, individuals can enter The American Business Awards for free directly through Facebook with the new application, “My Work Accomplishments” (http://apps.facebook.com/stevie_awards/), which enables users to brag about their achievements at work and easily submit those achievements to the ABAs as a self-nomination in any of six categories:
- Creative Professional of the Year
- Support Staffer of the Year
- Marketer of the Year (non-executive)
- Corporate Communicator of the Year (non-executive)
- Technical Professional of the Year (non-executive)
- Product Developer For The Year
