Contegix Start-Up, Boot-Up Competition To Help Fund Promising New Company

St. Louis, Missouri (PRESS RELEASE – March 27, 2011) – Contegix, a managed hosting and Internet infrastructure company, announced a new national start- up competition that will provide more than $75,000 in “Enterprize” technology tools and office space to a promising start-up. The winner of Start-up, Boot-up will demonstrate competitive differentiation, a solid business plan and incorporation of cloud computing in the company strategy.

Start-Up, Boot-Up is a competition created out of Contegix’s passion for entrepreneurship and the company’s knowledge of the unique challenges in starting a technology business.

“One of the biggest barriers to launching a start-up is access to the much needed capital for operational expenses such as servers and development tools. We’ve been there and we understand the struggles new start-ups face,” said Matthew Porter, chief executive officer, Contegix. “We’ve poured our hearts into developing a managed hosting company that serves the customer better, and now we want to help the next bright start-up turn their vision into a reality. Start-up, Boot- up has the potential to greatly contribute to a start-up’s success.”

Start-ups formed in 2010 or 2011, as well as those that are still in development, are eligible to apply to Start-up, Boot-up. Any U.S. industry that has a business or concept that relies on an Internet infrastructure may qualify.

Contegix has assembled an independent judging panel and group of technology partners to select the winning company. The independent judging panel includes Alex Williams, editor, ReadWriteWeb, Jennifer Ehlen, interim director, Saint Louis University Center for Entrepreneurship, and Jay De Long, vice president, New Ventures and Capital Formation, Saint Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association. The Contegix executive team and strategic partners will also participate in the judging process. One winning company will be selected.

The judges will evaluate the entries using criteria measuring several attributes to success:

Future growth plans

Competitive differentiation

Sales strategy

Development platform

Promise for commercial success or positive social change

Dependence on cloud technology.

“How companies get started in cloud computing is a topic we cover regularly on ReadWriteWeb, so it’s exciting to see a program like Start-Up, Boot-up evaluate how the companies of tomorrow plan to incorporate cloud technology into their business from day one,” said Alex Williams, editor, ReadWriteWeb and judging committee member for Start-Up, Boot-Up.

The winning start-up will receive the following “Enterprize” package worth more than $75,000 in free office space and technology tools:
