Cooking the Books

Unleashing Bold Initiatives

I love spin.

It amazes me that you can take almost any news item and watch multiple narratives evolve, each with entirely different viewpoints, using the exact same source material.

“I think this clearly shows that people are entirely in favor of this.”

“On the contrary, I think the data clearly show that everyone is opposed to this!”

Lather, rinse, repeat.

It’s very much like writing a cartoon; you take an idea and turn it on its head for another point of view. So when I ran across “cooking the books” one day, imagining how one might spin that phrase led me to the above cartoon.

    Mark,

Will the books taste good after a round in the microwave? 😉

  3. Reheating… priceless. These types of comics are great, because they require actual thought. Very clever!
