BizFilings Partners with Lemonade Day to Help Encourage Entrepreneurship

Madison, Wisconsin (PRESS RELEASE – April 22, 2011) – BizFilings, a leader in online incorporation services, is pleased to announce its partnership with Lemonade Day, an entrepreneurial learning program that teaches kids how to start, own and operate their first business, a lemonade stand. From now until May 1, for each new “like” on BizFilings’ Facebook page, BizFilings will donate $5 to Lemonade Day, up to $5,000.

Each May 1, Lemonade Day is celebrated nationwide as young entrepreneurs learn to plan, budget and sell their product, selling millions of cups of lemonade each year. The young entrepreneurs keep all the money they earn, but are also encouraged to share some of their profits with a charitable organization of their choice. Currently in 31 cities, Lemonade Day hopes to have one million youth participating in 100 cities by 2013.

Lemonade Day was created by Prepared 4 Life, a nonprofit organization that creates ways for young people to positively impact their communities. Lemonade Day helps infuse young people with the spirit of enterprise, and provides an opportunity for communities to come together for the common purpose of training the next generation of entrepreneurs.

“Lemonade Day could not be successful without the support of local businesses like BizFilings. We encourage businesses to support these young entrepreneurs by getting the word out to their community, giving permission to have a lemonade stand at your establishment, mentoring a young entrepreneur, or sponsoring a stand,” says Julie Eberly, Lemonade Day Chief Expansion Officer.

BizFilings is a supporter of entrepreneurs young and old, and is proud to help foster the growth of the next generation of entrepreneurs with the Lemonade Day partnership.

“It’s so inspiring to see the entrepreneurial spirit taking root at such a young age,” says Karen Kobelski, general manager of BizFilings. “BizFilings knows that today’s youth are tomorrow’s small business owners, and we’re proud to support their initiatives.”

BizFilings is a leading provider of incorporation in the U.S. and assists small businesses across the nation through its business filing and registered agent services. Visit the BizFilings online learning center to learn more about the benefits of incorporation.

Lemonade Day provides an opportunity for families, businesses, community organizations, and schools to come together for a common purpose – to train the next generation of entrepreneurs through a free, fun, engaging, and experiential activity. Lemonade Day is a nationwide event on Sunday, May 1, that teaches youth the skills they need to be successful in the future. The purpose of Lemonade Day is to teach youth to learn to set goals, develop a business plan, establish a budget, seek investors, provide customer service, market their product and give back to the community. Lemonade Day is part of Prepared 4 Life, a non-profit that provides fun, proactive and experiential programs infused with life skills, character education and entrepreneurship.
