Washington (PRESS RELEASE – May 20, 2011) – SCORE, America’s premier source of free and confidential small business advice for entrepreneurs, and Square, a revolutionary service that allows anyone to accept credit cards, announced they have joined forces to offer a “how to” resource to help small businesses better understand how to manage their mobile business needs. Additionally, in support of SCORE’s “Veteran Fast Launch” Initiative, Square will offer free credit card readers to the program participants.
As a newly recognized National Corporate Sponsor of SCORE, Square will sponsor a new eGuide on www.score.org. The new eGuide will be available June 1, 2011 for download on the SCORE web site. The eGuide is designed to educate small business owners on the process of taking mobile payments and the importance of tracking inventory to better manage their mobile business.
“Small business owners are looking for better ways to manage their mobile transactions. Thanks to Square, SCORE can offer new business resources to support the success of small businesses across America,” says SCORE CEO Ken Yancey. “We are also delighted with Square’s great contribution of free credit card readers to service members and their families participating in the ‘Veteran Fast Launch’ program.”
“We’re thrilled to work with SCORE to provide free Square credit card readers to entrepreneurs and small businesses,” said Jack Dorsey, CEO of Square. “SCORE’s goal of helping 20,000 businesses a year aligns with Square’s mission of enabling anyone to become an entrepreneur or grow their existing business by being able to easily accept credit cards.”
