Are You Incentivized?

Verbing seems rampant lately. You take another part of speech, transform it into an action, and BAM! – you’ve got yourself a new word! (By the way, the fact that this is actually called “verbing” requires its own cartoon.)

One of the worst, in my opinion, is “incentivize.” For a while you couldn’t escape it. Employees everywhere were being incentivized in all sort of ways in lieu of motivation, perks and sometimes pay.

It became one of those words that just stuck in my craw and I had to do something about it, so this cartoon is my own little piece of therapy.
