F6s.com: Where Startups Can Find Investors, Talent and Other Resources

community for small business

If you run a startup and are looking for a way to find talent to hire, or investors or other resources, F6s.com was designed for you.

Sean Kane, the co-founder of F6s.com says his site is geared to meeting these needs for startups. Kane called it “the Facebook of startups” in an interview with Small Business Trends.

“It’s a community that delivers anything that a startup needs to grow. The community is there to grow, hire more people, and get more funding.”

He said the site’s goal is to provide a space where small business and startup owners can go to find resources in four main categories. They appear at the top of the landing page. And resources in each category are listed down the page in a seemingly never-ending stream. Here they are with a brief description of each category:

Jobs and Talent

F6s.com has an active employment help section. It’s designed both as a place for small businesses and startups to post job listings and as a place for people who want to work with a startup or small business to find work. The site uses data matching to connect users with the most appropriate job listings on the site.

Fundraise and Invest

If you’re looking for investors to help your startup or small business grow, the site can help there too, says Kane. F6s.com aims to be a place where investors and businesses can find one another. Your business can also use a free service that allows you to seek crowdfunded investments within the F6s.com community. Kane said:

“There are hundreds of supporters who want to see small businesses grow.”

Free Deals

These could include anything from free business cards to website hosting services. The offers are rated by other F6s.com members to help pick the most popular. Kane says there are $750,000 in free deals right now on his site and many are exclusive offers to members.

Programs and Funds

The site has an active listing of business-related programs and seminars with information on how to  join or attend. The same category also lists various funding opportunities and accelerator programs available for startups and entrepreneurs.

Kane says that a membership to F6s.com is free. And membership gets you access to a constant stream of offers and new postings to the site. He was not specific about how the site might eventually be monetized. In our interview, he said:

“It’s really tough to grow a small company. We don’t want to make it harder by asking you to pay to join your own community.”

  1. I love the idea and I’ve been looking through the site. It’s got a lot of very cool things. Definitely recommend giving it a look.

  2. Interesting premise for a site. I like the inter-connectedness of what it offers. Will be passing by to take a look, and possibly registering.

  3. Lovely idea. However, can these offers be extended to businesses outside the continent, especially to Africa – Nigeria?? As there are so many great business ideas in need of start up funds.
