Public relations as a profession has always been quick to adopt and adapt new technologies that facilitate the communication process. The advent of social media and the ever-growing number of platforms through which messaging can be transferred has been a boon to professionals as well as a challenge. The benefit is the ability to communicate quickly. The challenge lies in the ability to monitor and respond to potentially negative perceptions.
One and the same – PR or Digital Marketing, both titles and roles must work in all these areas today. Social media is no longer a stand alone role.
