I don’t know exactly where I heard that, but it’s one of those phrases that sort of pops out and says ‘hello, cartoonist!’ and then won’t leave you alone.
You think about it, you turn it over in your head, you examine it, reexamine it, reverse it, twist it, give up, try again, curse your fate, ignore it – and then decide that anything is fine – just as long as you stop worrying about this. You just need to let it go and, yes, a cookie does sound good.
And then, if you’re lucky, you notice a painting of a sailing ship at the library and you finally get your cartoon.
