But at ICON 15, Infusionsoft’s annual small business event beginning Tuesday, March 31, 2015 and continuing through April 2, in Phoenix, Arizona, the CRM software maker promises business owners will learn more dynamic solutions.
“We see small business owners relying too heavily on referrals and word-of-mouth to grow their business,” said Greg Head, Infusionsoft’s Chief Marketing officer in a recent interview with Small Business Trends.
“While these are popular and dependable tactics, it’s not enough to succeed in today’s changing, fast-paced, and digitally connected world. It’s the difference between surviving and thriving for most small businesses,” Head added.
What You Will Learn
A glance at the agenda of the three-day event shows discussions on topics including:
- Building a personal brand
- Establishing customer retention
- Attracting your ideal clients
- Taking your business global
- And more
And Head says other topics will include how to effectively use old time marketing in the digital age and how to effectively use Twitter “to generate leads in 140 characters or less.”
Those unable to attend the event can register to view a live streaming video online if they wish.
Go Digital or Be Left Behind
The main focus behind the event is simple, says Head. Regardless of the type of business — whether car dealers, carpet cleaners, dentists, or consultants — none can effectively compete without a digital presence.
“People are searching for companies online, buying from them through their mobile devices and staying connected with them on social,” Head explains. “Small business owners who haven’t moved to the digital world are missing out or falling behind if they are not being systematic about marketing and sales in the digital world.”
More Than a Conference
Small Business Trends will be attending this year’s event and sharing coverage later in the week.
Head says he expects more than 3,000 people representing more than a dozen countries around the world to be in attendance.
Those making the trip include not only Infusionsoft customers, who will receive one-on-one product support from company experts. There will also be Infusionsoft partners seeking to network with a growing ecosystem built around the company’s products. There will also be members of the general audience seeking to learn better sales and marketing techniques to grown their own businesses.
Head says there is at least one other thing that makes the event special.
“The thing I love most about ICON is that it’s more than a conference to learn and get inspired — it’s a community of like-minded entrepreneurs who are experiencing the same challenges and triumphs,” he explains.
He adds: “Many are traveling thousands of miles to come because they’re seeking a sense of community and that’s exactly what they’re going to get with our conference.”

This is exciting. More than learning the basics of branding and referrals, it is important to see how businesses have used these concepts in real life. And this what you get in conferences like these.
