Wix CMO Omer Shai says:

“The WixShoutOut integration with Facebook’s advertising platform and its unparalleled reach, provides our users an effective cross-channel marketing tool and a simplified gateway into a massive new audience.

“Over a million people have already used Wix ShoutOut to create and share beautiful content. Now they’ll have the option to make their valuable content work for them multiple times and promote their business even further.”

Launched in 2014, Wix ShoutOut lets the platform’s users create, send and share professional newsletters and updates. It allows them to customize ready-made styles using their own texts, images and video, or with content from Wix ‘s free media library.

By working with Facebook, Wix says it allows its users to easily create and launch Facebook advertising campaigns. The new Wix Facebook ad tool integration creates Facebook page-post ads automatically from the content created on Wix.

Facebook’s Lookalike targeting sets the campaign’s target audience automatically, helping users speak to an audience similar to people who have already liked their Facebook Page. Wix says users can then customize the Wix Facebook ad, configure the campaign targeting and set its budget, all using the Wix ShoutOut dashboard. Once a new Facebook advertising campaign is launched, users can monitor and manage their campaign from the Facebook interface.

Steve Irvine, head of the Facebook Marketing Partner program, says in a news release:

“Wix and Facebook are both seeking to make marketing simpler and more effective for global businesses of all sizes. Our partnership will allow WixShoutOut users to extend the reach of their email marketing campaigns to Facebook in just a few clicks, getting their content in front of the people who matter most to their businesses.”

July has been a busy month for Wix. Tuesday’s announcement of the Facebook partnership comes on the heels of news about WixEd, a free online school for website developers and a new integration of MyAllocator for WixHotels.

  1. Sounds pretty cool. Advertisers just need to remember that content should have a direct call to action with benefits for the reader. Otherwise they’ll just be spending money for people to look at their Facebook posts.

  2. Does this mean that it is better to have your e-commerce site on Wix? I know that Wix offers a unique website platform. It just doesn’t have enough customization options like WordPress.
