Space is still available at the PITCH U elevator pitch competition at Kent State University on Saturday, September 19.
A new business idea pitch competition sponsored by the Burton D. Morgan Foundation, PITCH U teaches students how to convince investors to back their ideas. The event provides students at all degree levels (undergraduate through PhD) with the opportunity to make 90-second elevator pitches to a panel of real angel investors.
The competition is FREE and open to students across all fields of study, from art to zoology. You don’t even need to have a business or an idea for one to join.
Prizes totaling $4,000 will be awarded to participants:
- $2,500 for first place.
- $1,000 for second place.
- $500 for third place.
Every participant receives:
- A free lunch

- A chance to meet prominent angel investors
- The opportunity to learn how to learn to pitch investors

This will be exciting. I think it is the perfect way to encourage people to not only start thinking about their pitches but also to come up with creative ones too.
