Engagement is important. Never go out without communicating with your employees. Communication must be regular so that expectations stay clear.

Michael Guta: I recommend you to look into Dr. Edwin A. Locke’s work on goal setting and organization leadership. Do you know about any small business companies that are applying pay it forward management?

      Hi Martin,
I will look into Dr. Edwin A. Locke, thank you.
I don’t personally know of a small business that has applied the pay-it-forward management, but I think the benefit it provides can be experienced much faster in small companies.

  3. Happy I came across this post! I’ve applied pay it forward principles to the networking events I host called Pay It Forward Parties. The folks I invite are mostly people that I’ve helped or connected to others or were looking for some “brain picking” time with me, so the price of admission to the event is that you have to be willing to offer help to someone else first. In most cases, I don’t need a “pay it back” but offering help to someone I know is the best way to reciprocate as far as I’m concerned. Luv that this is finally being recognized as an excellent way to motivate teams!

    Hi Sandy,
Like you said, ‘having it recognized’ is a first step in wider adoption by organizations. I see it as being positive all around.
