There are also sitewide SEO best practices, like making sure you have an updated XML sitemap and it’s been uploaded to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools. Using both of these tools to diagnose and fix problems on your site is a tip in and if itself – don’t just use Google Analytics!
Also, you’ll want to disallow tag, calendar and author folders from your blog in your robots.txt file to prevent duplicate content – though don’t disallow the pages folder! One more: instead of your blog being called /blog/, name the folder using a few keywords – if you have to convert an existing folder to do so, make sure you create a URL redirect for every blog post!
