SEO solopreneurs

Ever wonder why search engine optimization (SEO) is so important? Take a look at the following statistics found on this post on Search Engine Journal:

  • Search engines and email are the top two Internet activities that people engage in.
  • 75 percent of people using search engines say they never scroll past the first page of results.
  • Search engines are the number one driver of traffic to content sites.

If you’re an SEO solopreneur starting to build your business, you can’t ignore these statistics. If you want to develop a strong online presence, you need to embrace SEO.

Creating an effective search engine strategy is the only way you can make it easier for prospective clients to find  your company online. It’s a proven way to get more traffic to your site, which is exactly what you want.

But it’s not easy, is it?

The fact that you’re reading this article means that you’re interested in learning how to improve your search engine rankings. Search engine optimization isn’t as complicated as it sounds, but it can still be a challenge. You must make sure that you’re using the right methods to increase your search engine rankings.

Tips For SEO Solopreneurs

This article will give you three tips that will help you make it easier for potential clients to find your website. As you implement these tips, you will see how much more traffic you will receive over time.

Here’s one thing that is important to remember: SEO is a marathon, not a sprint. When you implement these tips, it won’t instantly increase your traffic. However, as you start to gain more trust with Google and other search engines, you will see that your site will rise in the rankings, which means more people will visit your website.

Write Great Content

Creating great content helps with higher rankings in the search engines. That’s why one of the number one things you should focus on when improving your search engine optimization is creating high quality content.

If you have a blog (and you should) you need to make sure that each piece of content that you post brings a benefit to your readers. Many SEO solopreneurs make the mistake of only creating blog posts that promote their product or service.

This is a mistake.

Remember, the readers don’t care about you. They care about the benefit you can bring to them. Most likely, they’re on your website to get helpful information and they’re not ready to buy yet.

Of course, it’s not enough to just create great content. You also need to make sure people read it. One of the best ways to do this is to use social media to promote your content.

The more readers you get, the more your content will be shared. This is something that will help you gain higher search engine rankings. Creating great content and promoting it effectively will go a long way towards improving your SEO.

Focus On Quality Links

Another key component of improving your SEO is earning links from other sites. When more people link to your content, it shows search engines that your site can be trusted. This makes them more likely to rank your site higher.

However, it’s not just about getting links; it’s about getting high-quality links. If most of the links to your website come from spammy sources, it can actually hurt your search engine rankings.

Remember, search engines only want to rank sites that provide relevant information to their customers. When you have higher-quality links to your site, search engines are more likely to trust your content..

Use The Right Tools

As I said at the beginning of this article, building an effective SEO strategy can seem pretty challenging. But there are tools that can make it easier. Here are three:

  • Moz Open Site Explorer — This site allows you to do link research. You can find out who is linking to your site as well as your competitor’s.
  • Google Webmaster Tools — This is another great tool for analyzing your link traffic. You will be able to make a deeper analysis of who is linking to your site.
  • Link Detox — Remember what I said earlier about having only high-quality links? This tool helps you do just that. This helps you identify any low-quality or spammy links that could be connecting to your site. It’s a great tool for helping you clean up your backlinks.

There are many tools that can help you improve your SEO. However, the issue isn’t just using all of these tools. The issue is figuring out which tools are the best fit for your business.

Summing It All Up

Search engine optimization is crucial for the success of any business, whether it’s online or brick and mortar. The easier it is for potential clients to find you online, the easier it will be to grow your business.

When you use the tips given in this article, you will see how much your Web traffic increases over time. When you start to see more and more leads come in, you will see how much of a benefit SEO can be.

  1. If you’re working solo, then it may be best to focus on quality than quantity. You’ll never make it in the quantity game as others have big teams working for them. So it is better to just focus on quality content.

  2. @Aira Bongco I`m 100% agree with you quality over quantity. That is the key. We all know that “The Content is the king”, with great content, a few quality backlinks and good link portfolio, you can achieve miracles!

  3. Absolutely agreed with Aira. Content optimization is a big deal as “Content is the King”. But when working solo and writing content for Websites or blog, content must be optimized. It should not be less than 750 words. Check content plagiarism. Place Primary Keywords in first line of first paragraph. Break content in to multiple paragraphs. Be careful of Keyword Density (2 to 4%). Place Primary Global and LSI keywords evenly throughout the content and style with , and .

  4. Link building can really tricky, preparing a good link plan and checking what type of links your competitors do is crucial nowaday. Also, technical on-site optimisation will help you to make the difference when it comes to SEO. It is all about getting the best user experience, quality of the site and getting the website popular.

  5. There are plenty of directory type listings that I don’t see people utilizing enough of (local chamber of commerce, deemx, etc.), it doesn’t take much to rank at a local level, a couple high-quality links and you’re good.

  6. I love this post! The nugget about link detox is super valuable!!! I have always said that content is king! Bringing real value to the market place is what people want, and it will show with the length of time people stick around to read your stuff!! Write for humans, and have your own voice and you will be ahead of the game!
