SBA Conference on More Equitable Access for Small Businesses

One of the main topics discussed during the SBA and CUC virtual meeting was the plan to expand equitable access to capital and resources for small businesses. This would include ‘opening doors of opportunity’ to the likes of contracting and procurement.

Other topics included catching up on the progress made on small business support structures under the Biden-Harris Administration, with CUC council and SBA program office members sharing views from the public. They also laid out their plan for the next two years, which involves focusing on amplifying the SBA’s programs and messages with the aim of creating the more equitable access to capital and resources.

An Economy That ‘Works For Everyone’

SBA Administrator Guzman was excited for the CUC and SBA to reconvene and continue their efforts to support small businesses in America, saying: “I’m excited for this kick-off as the CUC and its important mission align perfectly with the core of what we came here to do at the SBA and across the federal government in the Biden-Harris Administration: Ensure our economy works for everyone so that we can build wealth in communities across America, and strengthen our global competitiveness.

“I am hopeful in 2022 as I believe the SBA is strongly positioned to deliver on President Biden’s commitment to equity. And I know the CUC can be an impactful advisory group to advance the SBA’s work to meet our small businesses and entrepreneurs where they are and provide them with the capital, opportunities, knowledge, and networks to start and grow their American dream and build resilience, regardless of demographic.”

Creative CUC with ‘Impactful Ideas’

The CUC Chairman John W. Rogers, Jr. also expressed his eagerness to work with Administrator Guzman and the White House to expand equitable access to both capital and customers. Their coordination should make it much easier for small and diverse-owned businesses to grow and expand. He also gave his vote of confidence to the CUC’s ability to come up with ‘creative and impactful ideas’ with which to advise the Small Business Administration.

  1. Hopefully, this actually leads to easy and open lines of capital for small businesses.
Everytime I have dealt with the SBA, they want financial performance akin to a 50MM year business.

  2. I’m deeply sad that small business owners in every sector high or low income communities are all the same ! SBA EIDL advance gave the opportunities only to low income communities.
We are all the same running our businesses.
I m living in so called not in a low income area but sharing with the room- mate and considered as I m rich, but it is wrong !
This issue has to be solved and we all small business owners have equal right !

  3. The SBA roll out on the Loans was terrible and too many of the wrong people got loan’s to purchase items that had nothing to do with their Business. The process was overwhelming and Repetitive. I send in the same documents over and over again. I sent you all that you ask for and yet you still find a way to deny me. I was deny a loan due to I was ill with Cancer in 2018 I didn’t know it until 2019 when I was able to get treatments. I started my business in 2017 in which I sent my taxes, but due to my illness in 2018 – 2019 I did not work my business. Which is a Professional Barber. I went back to work in 2020 due to being in remission now. Having Non Hodgkin lymphoma you can have a flare up at any given time. I have this the rest of my life. I was working when Covid-19 hit and it hit me hard. Why because I’m the sole supporter in my home in which I have to work to be able to get my medication for my Cancer to stay in REMISSION. So why was I not given my loan to keep my Shop and Services open. Now I know I was supposed to send Fraudulent paperwork to commit a crime to get the help not tell the truth. Let me resubmit the paperwork saying I have 100 employees and my business lost 10 millions dollars in those three months. Then I get a loan to go buy a Rolex, Lamborghini Gucci shoes trips to Paris. Silly me wanted to Cut Kids Hair with Autism that wasn’t good enough HUH SBA

  4. After reading this article. I’ve been trying to increase the loan amount for my business and yet they are taking a long time to process the 4506t. I’ve been calling and calling and they’ve told me they have not!! Processed it nor received it. I am frustrated. Ok run a small business and in need of help!!

  5. 2020-2028 TX-LIBERTARIAN CENTRIST PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE Rickey Dean Morris Jr

The SBA/IRS/FEMA=The Department of Treasury and the illegal use of wealth redistribution =stealing from the American People and Businesses then breaking the law by double taxation through loans on tax money to be returned with interest causing triple taxation.

The insulting thing to 330 Million Americans is to lie, drag out PPP, and EIDL applications and they all met the requirements to receive funding. Instead of depositing the money they lied like they daddy Joe Robinhood in reverse Adolf Brandon Biden Jr and Donald Trump, now Janet Yellen, Jerome Powell, Jovita Carranza, and the rest of the open public liars have pulled the rug from under already struggling Americans on December 31st 2021. Lying is not leadership and now over 900,000 people are dead in America due to COVID-19 is in the shot=inoculation. God is watching and Y’all can censor as much as You like but Y’all Work For Satan=The Father of Lies!

  7. The fact the SBA has not been honest about how they are dealing with the low income people.they have been giving me the run around since September of last year all they say is wait on a email no one is returning emails nor are they working on people application they have push them to the back rather than helping people keep there business going

  8. In the digital age, the term segmentation is changing – you should neglect traditional approaches. You should focus on the Passionate segment . you can neglect all other segments Why ?

    1. This target audience will try your products
    2. They also have the best chances to become returning customers
    3. The Passionate will read your content
    4. They will follow your social network activities and pages
    5. They will distribute your content (this is a field they are passionate about)
    6. Your category Passionate will always be open to purchase new products – with reduced price sensitivity
    7. It will be much easier to make them your brand and product promoters. Provided that you recognize their value and create a good relationship with them

Do you want to know who and where to find the Passionate segment? it’s all here :
