Patrice K Cokley

Patrice K. Cokley is a brand consultant and the Founder of The Bassline Group, a marketing consultancy and brand development firm for entertainers and creatives. With over 15 years of experience in Sales & Marketing in both retail and corporate environments, Patrice developed a passion and love for entrepreneurs and small businesses when she was laid off in 2008. Patrice started a networking blog that catered to a niche market, which led to her developing her skills in brand development and social media marketing. To keep expenses low at the time, Patrice taught herself basic CSS and HTML languages to make minor web design changes, then began to assist other local entrepreneurs with their business endeavors; including design, business structure, and multiple facets of marketing/promotions. Effectively using social media has assisted Patrice in obtaining new consulting clients, a book deal, a consulting contract with a local design firm, and speaking engagements that include Social Media Week Chicago 2013. Patrice has also been pictured in Black Enterprise Magazine, and was featured in The Entrepreneur Within You, TEW Radio, and The Business 101 Magazine. A Detroit native, Patrice earned her Bachelor's degree from Wayne State University, majoring in Marketing, and her MBA from Kaplan University with a specialization in Marketing as well. She now resides in the suburbs of Chicago, IL and writes about branding, small business marketing, social media and entrepreneurship on her PKC Blog.
